Since 1998, LIGHT’s mission is to promote health and wellness and education of children, families and individuals impacted by health and social disparities.
LIGHT envisions a community where individuals are empowered to make healthy decisions, receive treatment for mental and physical health, and obtain the social support services that will help them live healthy and fulfilling lives.
Today, LIGHT has served more than 20,000 individuals through child care, in addition to multiple complementary programs and services.
Over the past 20 years LIGHT has provided childcare services to over 1,200 families with children.
Over the past 20 years YYAM has provided services to over 400 youth and young adults infected with HIV/AIDS.
LIGHT has provided Education and Prevention to over 300 youth, Foster Care Parents, and Staff members in the Child Welfare and Department of JSP in Maryland.
