Social Media Giving Day was inaugurated by Givver, a platform dedicated to fundraising via Twitter, in 2013.
Givver is a St. Louis-based not-for-profit-focused technology platform that encourages social media users to donate via social networks, namely Twitter. Givver worked with elected officials , charitable organizations, and social media influencers around the country to promote the day as a way to use social media for social good and to leverage social media as a means to hashtag “give” to their favorite charity or cause, declaring July 15 as “Social Media Giving Day”.
How can you get involved?
Social Media Giving Day has made it possible to refresh the awareness of what LIGHT brings to the communities of Baltimore. This is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your support through your invaluable contributions. Learning through play at LIGHT Rock Child Care Center
The Students and Staff at LIGHT Rock Child Care are enjoying the summer time activities and we’re just getting started. In the month of June, the students explored summer insects and the book of the month was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. The students constructed summer insect art and they also practiced exploring insects, including the infamous Cicada – Brood X.
Our Summer Program fun began on June 21, 2021 and runs until August 26, 2021. There is still time to enroll your child into our summer-time fun activity-loaded program.

Our support group “More Than Me” is back by popular demand. The program is designed to address common barriers that prevent HIV-positive individuals from remaining in care by having HIV infected clients who are in need of additional support by family and/or friends. Topics include: HIV 101, Disclosure, Medication Treatment Adherence.

Brainstorming Opportunity
If you know anyone interested in doing a zoom meeting for a couple of hours and be compensated by a $40 Amazon gift card, please feel free to pass this along. We are looking for Gen Z and millennials interested in brainstorming of social media messages On COVID19, vaccine hesitancy, and building a community of trust. The session will be on July 15, from 9 to 11 am but I wanted to make sure that we had fresh, honest community voices. Any assist would be greatly appreciated!
